Short-term Mission Trips
Short-term missions can play a vital role in the church’s global efforts when approached with purpose and strategy. As Andy Johnson notes in Missions: How the Local Church Goes Global, “Short-term missions should be an adrenaline shot to the marathon effort.” This perspective highlights that short-term missions are most effective when they energize and support long-term, sustainable work rather than operate as standalone endeavors. That’s why Master’s Mission prioritizes supporting local ministries and churches in each location. By working alongside, rather than over, local churches, Master’s Mission helps to prevent unnecessary problems, such as cultural misunderstandings or dependency. This approach ensures that short-term efforts provide encouragement, resources, and momentum to ongoing ministry, strengthening the local church and contributing to a lasting impact for the glory of God.

Guatemala
A short-term mission trip to Guatemala is a meaningful way to serve by building houses, distributing Joy Bags, or helping with food for families in poverty. This reflects the spirit of 1 John 3:18: “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” By partnering with local ministries, you can share Christ’s love through tangible acts of service, making an eternal impact in the lives of those in need. For those who are unable to participate in the trip but still wish to contribute, donations of $700 can help provide the funds necessary to build a home for a family in need.

Mexico
A short-term mission trip to Mexico is an opportunity to support church planting, engage in construction projects to improve church buildings, preaching, evangelism, or/and distribute Joy Boxes. According to Voice of the Martyrs Central Mexico is dubbed the “Circle of Silence,” because less than 1% of the population identifies as biblical followers of Christ. This underscores the urgent need for outreach and the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Jesus commands us in Matthew 28:19–20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” this is one way to get involved in actively contributing to the spread of the gospel in a region where it is desperately needed. As Romans 10:14 reminds us, “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard?”

Ukraine
In Ukraine, short-term mission trips are approached with caution due to the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis. However, opportunities still exist to support local pastors and churches by providing humanitarian aid and offering encouragement to the believers in these challenging times. For those who are unable to go on a mission trip but wish to help, donations can be made to support the aid efforts. These contributions can make a significant impact as we seek to share God’s love and meet the urgent needs of those affected by the crisis.

Cuba
In Cuba, where religious freedom is restricted, short-term mission trips are also infrequent and carefully planned. Our focus remains on supporting local pastors, providing humanitarian aid, and strengthening the local church in a way that ensures the safety of both the missionaries and the Cuban believers. For those wishing to contribute but unable to travel, donations help support the local pastors and church planters with the ongoing work and provide vital resources to assist in meeting both physical and spiritual needs in this restricted environment.
